For example, we may need your name, address and membership information to supply your equipment, administer your membership and manage swaps and returns.

Legitimate interests

Where processing is necessary for our legitimate business interests and those interests are not overridden by your rights and freedoms.

5. TRM EQUIPMENT & ASSET RECORDS

TRM operates an access-based membership model.

Professional equipment supplied through a TRM Membership remains the property of TRM TOOLS LTD unless expressly stated otherwise.

We maintain records linking equipment to the member responsible for it.

For example, we may record when an individual tool has been:

Assigned → Dispatched → Delivered → Inspected → Swapped → Returned → Serviced → Recirculated

These records allow us to administer memberships, maintain equipment, protect TRM property, investigate missing equipment and maintain an accurate history of our assets.

Some equipment records may need to be retained after a particular tool has been returned or a membership has ended where there is a legitimate or legal reason for doing so.

6. PAYMENTS

TRM uses third-party services to process payments and administer aspects of membership billing.

These providers may process information necessary to complete transactions and manage recurring payments.

TRM may receive information relating to successful payments, failed payments, refunds and membership billing but does not normally receive your complete payment-card details.

Payment providers may process your personal information in accordance with their own privacy policies.

7. SHOPIFY

Our online store is hosted using Shopify.

Shopify may process certain personal information in order to provide ecommerce, account, checkout and related services to TRM.

Information submitted through our online store may therefore be processed by Shopify in accordance with its applicable privacy practices.

8. MEMBERSHIP MANAGEMENT

TRM may use third-party membership and subscription-management technology, including Appstle, to administer aspects of TRM Memberships.

This may include processing information relating to:

  • your membership plan;
  • membership status;
  • renewal dates;
  • recurring payments;
  • failed payments;
  • customer accounts;
  • cancellations; and
  • other information necessary to administer your membership.

These providers may process information on our behalf and/or in accordance with their own applicable privacy terms.

Where personal information is transferred internationally, we take reasonable steps to ensure that appropriate safeguards required by applicable data protection law are in place.

Depending on the destination, these may include recognised adequacy regulations or approved contractual safeguards.

16. HOW WE PROTECT YOUR INFORMATION

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures designed to protect personal information against:

  • unauthorised access;
  • accidental loss;
  • misuse;
  • unauthorised disclosure;
  • alteration; and
  • destruction.

However, no internet-based service or electronic storage system can guarantee absolute security.

You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure.

  • establish, exercise or defend legal claims;
